That’s the love I’m about.

I love my wife & five daughters. I also wish I were able to perform and record more. Due to all my family commitments, I often have 1/10 the amount of creative time which I want. Despite that, I’m deeply grateful for the love we share as a family; a love mixed with fighting and yelling at times; apologies and reconciliation always; diapers; kissing the kids every morning & spanking them every evening (that last one’s a joke for the boomers); yearning to be single & free when shit hits the fan.

The bottom line of everything seems to be love. I hear everyone singing about it, explicitly or implicitly because we’re all in the same boat of needing it.

For me, I’m going to hold onto the love I share with my wife and kids more tightly more tightly than anything else, tighter than any other dream I have. My goal is to dig in so deeply to this love that it consumes me, such that I can love the whole world regardless of the circumstances, even to the point where I lose the ones who are most dear to me. That’s the love I’m about.
